Information:
Originally called Altarpiece, and often Little Spirit. Cast at Victoria Foundries. Exhibited, along with Holy Man, at “Canadian Religious Art Today”, mounted by Regis College, Toronto, 1966. Except for Dynast, this is Mayhew’s only small column. She wrote “Bronze Model” on the back of a photo, though as the sculpture was cast after Spirit itself (1964), it was not a model for that piece, although perhaps for Coast Spirit (1967).
